Privacy Policy

MarketMate helps you find jobs and fill in application forms. To do that it needs your resume and profile. It sends parts of them to an AI provider to draft answers, and it fills fields on employers’ application pages on your behalf.

It does not sell your data, does not use it to train anyone’s models, and does not read pages other than the job application pages you open it on.

Your account: email address and a hashed password. We never store your password itself.

Your resume and profile: the contents of the resume you upload — contact details, work experience, education, skills — plus what you tell us about the roles you want, where you’ll work, your work authorization, and whether you hold a security clearance.

Your applications: which jobs you applied to, when, and their status.

The MarketMate Assist extension runs only on the job boards listed in its manifest — Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby application pages — and on MarketMate’s own site. It cannot read any other page.

On a job application page, and only after you start an application from inside MarketMate, it reads the structure of the employer’s form: the field labels, their types, and whether each is required. It sends that structure to MarketMate so the server can decide what is safe to fill.

It does not read anything else on the page, and it does not send us the contents of fields you typed yourself, except to check whether a field it filled actually took effect.

When it checks its own work, the values it observed are sent to MarketMate, hashed on arrival, and the raw text is discarded. What we keep is a one-way fingerprint that lets us tell “this matches what we planned” from “this changed” — not the answer itself.

The extension never submits an application. It fills fields and reports what it filled; clicking Submit is yours. If you separately turn on Auto Apply, applications are submitted by MarketMate’s own servers, not by the extension in your browser.

It also never fills a field MarketMate has classified as one only you should answer. Demographic and EEO questions, and legal acknowledgements or attestations, are never touched.

AI providers. To draft answers and tailor your resume, we send the relevant job description and the parts of your resume needed to answer it to one AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic or Google), depending on configuration. They process it to return a response. We do not send your email address, phone number, or home address for this purpose.

Employers. When you apply, your application goes to that employer through their own application form. What they do with it is governed by their privacy policy, not this one.

Hosting. The application and its database are hosted by Vercel. Email notifications are sent through our own SMTP provider.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Your password in readable form — only a hash.

The raw text of answers observed on an employer’s form — only hashes, as described above.

Your resume as an uploaded file for the purpose of attaching it. The PDF sent to an employer is generated fresh from your structured resume data each time, so it can never drift out of sync with what you edited.

Credentials for any employer or job-board account. MarketMate does not store passwords for other sites.

You can edit your profile and replace your resume at any time from your account. Deleting your account and exporting your data are not yet available in MarketMate. Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected].

Auto Apply is off by default, is opt-in, and can be paused by you at any time.

You can remove the browser extension at any time; nothing in MarketMate depends on it remaining installed.
