Terms of Service

“MarketMate”, “we” and “us” mean the MarketMate service, its website, and the MarketMate browser extension. “You” means the person using it. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter an agreement. If you are using MarketMate for a job search, it must be your own.

MarketMate finds job postings, checks whether you are eligible for them, ranks what is left against your experience, drafts application materials grounded in your resume, and — through the browser extension — fills in parts of an employer’s application form on your behalf.

It is a tool that acts on your instructions. It is not an employment agency, a recruiter, a law firm, or an immigration adviser, and nothing it produces is legal, immigration, financial or career advice.

These are limits in the software, not just intentions:

• It will not state a skill, role, degree, date or accomplishment your resume does not support.
• It will not answer demographic, race, gender, veteran-status or disability questions.
• It will not accept a legal acknowledgement, attestation or declaration on your behalf.
• It will not solve a CAPTCHA, disguise your browser, or work around a site’s access controls.
• It will not submit an application unless you submit it, or unless you have turned on Auto Apply.

You are responsible for what you tell MarketMate and for keeping your password to yourself. The quality of what MarketMate produces depends entirely on the accuracy of your resume and profile — including your work authorisation, which drives eligibility decisions on every role you see.

Confirming your work authorisation is a statement you are making about yourself. MarketMate repeats it on application forms; it does not verify it, and it cannot.

Every application MarketMate prepares or submits is an application from you to an employer. You are the applicant. You are responsible for its contents, including anything MarketMate drafted that you did not change.

Review what MarketMate has written before it goes out. Where the extension fills a form, it reports field by field what it filled and what it could not, so that review is possible rather than theoretical.

Auto Apply is off by default and has to be switched on deliberately, after you have seen at least one application prepared and reviewed by hand. When it is on, MarketMate submits applications on your behalf without asking you each time — within the limits you set: how many per window, how many in total, and which roles to exclude.

Those applications are still yours under clause 5. You can pause Auto Apply at any moment, and MarketMate stops rather than guessing whenever something needs a judgement it should not make for you.

You agree not to:

• Use MarketMate to apply on someone else’s behalf without their knowledge.
• Submit information about yourself that you know to be false.
• Use it to send bulk or abusive applications to an employer.
• Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service.
• Resell or redistribute the service or its output as your own product.

We may suspend an account that does any of these.

MarketMate reads postings from, and submits applications to, systems operated by other companies — currently Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby. Those systems have their own terms, and we do not control them, their availability, or what an employer does with an application once it arrives.

MarketMate uses third-party AI providers to process your resume text and produce your drafts, and an email service to send you notifications. What goes where is set out in the Privacy Policy.

MarketMate does not promise interviews, offers, or employment. It does not promise that a posting is still open, that an employer sponsors visas, or that an application was received. Hiring outcomes are decided by employers, and nothing in this service changes that.

MarketMate is currently free, and no payment details are collected anywhere in the product. If paid plans are introduced, we will set out the price and terms before they apply to you, and you will not be charged for anything you did not choose.

Your resume, your profile and your applications remain yours. You give us permission to process them for the purpose of running the service for you — finding roles, drafting materials, filling forms — and for nothing else.

The MarketMate software, interface and brand remain ours.

You can stop using MarketMate at any time. Deleting your account and exporting your data are not yet available in MarketMate; see the Privacy Policy. We may end or suspend an account for a breach of clause 7, or if we stop operating the service — in which case we will give you notice first.

MarketMate is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every eligibility decision or draft will be correct. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, we do; where it does not, nothing here removes rights you have.

If we change these terms materially, we will tell you before the change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use MarketMate after that means you accept the new terms.
